I'm Paloma, a Spanish teacher with extensive experience helping international professionals grow personally and professionally through learning a new language.
My courses are specifically designed to provide both linguistic and cultural support, making Spanish a powerful tool for differentiation.
I completed my studies in Translation and Interpreting, along with a Master’s in Legal Translation, though I have been exclusively dedicated to teaching Spanish as a foreign language for over 8 years. Currently, I help companies and professionals communicate in Spanish with the same confidence they would in their native language.
And I love my job!
During my time at the University of Salamanca, I spent a semester in Cologne (Germany) on Erasmus. I enjoyed the experience of meeting people from diverse backgrounds, learning new words in other languages, and being immersed in a mix of cultures so much that I decided to dedicate my career to fostering intercultural communication.
If there was one good thing about 2020, it’s that it inspired me to start my own project: Solcademia. Since then, I haven’t stopped learning, growing, and reaching more people who are looking for a new way to learn Spanish.
My mission is to bring my knowledge and experience to companies to facilitate the integration of their international employees and transform their experience in Spain.
Because everyone deserves to feel at home, no matter where they’re from.
I was born in January 1993, in A Coruña, with an adventurous spirit.
Even though I was a shy child, my experiences abroad helped me leave my comfort zone many times, and by the time I got to university, I knew I’d want to live outside of Spain (at least for a little while).
That Erasmus semester in Köln (Germany) sparked in me a passion for teaching Spanish not just as a language, but as a bridge to greater cultural understanding.
Since then, every class has been an opportunity to help my students feel more comfortable in both professional and social situations in Spain, enabling them to express themselves and connect beyond words.
I never imagined that my love for the language would bring me this far, but there’s one thing I know for sure: my biggest competitive advantage isn’t just my knowledge of Spanish, but my ability to connect with people and make them feel welcome.
I can communicate fluently in English, French, Portuguese, Galician, and a little bit of Greek.
There’s nothing I enjoy more than getting lost in a good book.
There’s no better pleasure than a delicious bite… you can win me over with food.
Not obsessively, but the peace of mind from planning and organizing is priceless.
I’ll never say no to a getaway of any kind. I love discovering new places and learning from those experiences.
I’m a fan of short jokes and puns. I consider humor a sign of intelligence.
